Testing FTTP directly with the ONT on Apple MacOS 13
Step 1 : Connecting an Ethernet cable
Connect an Cat6a Ethernet cable between your ONTs LAN port and Ethernet port on your Apple laptop or desktop. If you don't have an Ethernet port, you would be advised to get a USB 3 to Ethernet adaptor to make this possible.
Step 2 : Setting up the PPPoE connection
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Network in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
- Click the Action pop-up menu on the right, then choose Add Service.
- Click the Interface pop-up menu, then choose PPPoE.
- Click the Ethernet pop-up menu, then choose an interface for the PPPoE service (choose Ethernet as you will be testing via a wired network).
- Enter a name for the PPPoE service in the Service Name field, then click Create.
- In the network service list, select the new PPPoE service you just created, then click the Advanced button.
- Enter your Aquiss PPPoE username and password, into the Account Name and Password fields.
- Click PPP in the sidebar, then adjust any of the settings as needed.
- Click OK.
