Unable to upload files (FTP) when using Filezilla
- 19/02/2015 4:14 PM
This article relates to customers who are using FileZilla, a popular FTP software client, but are unable to upload files or view directory listings, generally following a recent software update (3.10.1.1).
It would appear that following this recent update, the software has now enabled, oddly by default, some new encryption settings, which are not supported generally by the web hosting industry. This article will assume you have already used Filezilla previously and have website login details saved.
Step 1 : From the File Menu select the option Site Manager.
Step 2 : Highlight the site in question that you're having problems with.
Step 3 : Ensure that the encryption option is set to "Use Plain FTP".
Step 4 : Click OK.
You should now find that are once again able to log in and upload files to your website.
